This course relates the science of Earth to activities of human beings. It gives a survey of the relationship between Earth science and environmental science.
Environmental geology studies the "geological environment" from the point of view how it is utilized by man and consequently protected. The content of the subject is focused on understanding of the essentials of geology in detail, on providing the knowledge about the applied geological science and corresponding legislation.
The course includes the following topics: basic information about geology (Earth history,structure, dynamics), geological hazards, raw materials, mining activity etc.
